Rough Birth (2010, Edition of 50, 29 pages dimensions variable) is an altered book about attempts to emerge from isolation. Photos and text have been tipped into pages that have been glued together or obscured with gesso to hide their original content. A narrative unfolds over the course of 13 text vignettes, 28 photographs, and one explanatory diagram. Each book in the edition was created from a different original.
