First Novel (2012, Edition of 25, 20 pages, 10.25x6.25 inches) is an artist's book constructed from defaced comic book and photographs of text from a notebook found in the garbage. The text is arranged to be read sequentially. The comics used for this book were chosen for their lack of iconic characters and then further blacked out to remove any remaining recognizable traces. In this way, they hold their pop appearance, but lose any claim to universality. Each copy is unique.
